New ‘Dragon Ball Super’ English Dub Teaser Finally Released – Waited 70+ Eps Before Release in US
The long wait is finally over for the English dubbed version of 'Dragon Ball Super.' Toonami has recently released a new teaser trailer announcing the premiere of 'Dragon Ball Super' initial episodes on January 7, 2017. The trailer warns fans saying "Get ready for 'Dragon Ball Super."
According to Comic Book, the short animated clip showed familiar faces like Goku, Beerus, Goten, Mr. Boo, Piccolo, Vegeta, Mr. Satan, Trunks and King Kai. And since this is just the first few episodes of DBS, it is estimated that it would take more or less a year to for this version to catch up with the current 'Dragon Ball Super' in Japan which is now showing its 71st episode.
Familiar voice actors will dub Goku and the gang's voices and according to reports, voice actors for 'Dragon Ball Z' actors were considered for the job. These talented voice actors will continue to dub for 'Dragon Ball Super' in Toonami while Japanese actors will voice the anime which is still updated in Japan.
TV Series Finale also reported the new dub trailer and said that 'Dragon Ball Super' was the first new storyline from 'Dragon Ball Z' in more than 18 years. Akira Toriyama created 'Dragon Ball' and the franchise was actually introduced to the United States more than 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, as Toonami gears for the English dubbed version of 'Dragon Ball Super,' the Japanese updated version is nearing a new arc. The 'Tournament of Power' will start February and it is all about a martial arts tournament between different universes. Producer Shunki Hashizume said that this is a new chapter and is called the "Universe Survival Arc" and will be about Goku and the Universe 7 warriors as they take on different teams from different universes.
'Dragon Ball Super' new arc will be released February 2017 while the English dubbed version in Toonami will be on January 7, 2017 at 8 p.m. and a replay at 11:30 p.m.
