After a season-long journey and last night's shocking episode, just three stars remain in the battle to become "Dancing with the Stars" champion: Candace Cameron Bure, Meryl Davis and Amy Purdy.

Yesterday, ABC aired part one of the "Dancing with the Stars" finale. Team James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd danced the Argentine tango, which (finally) included a kiss. The dance earned the team, who admits to going on a couple of dates together in the past but still fights present-day romance rumors, 29 out 30 points. Judge Bruno Tonioli said "that tango was like a guided laser," according to Parade. The team also earned 29 points for their Freestyle, but in a surprise elimination, they were sent home.

"I've really had an amazing experience on this," Maslow said on the live episode. "I enjoyed it more than I ever thought was possible."

The Big Time Rush star also took to Twitter to express his gratitude for his time on the dancing competition show.

"Thank you to all the #TeamJeta fans who helped @PetaMurgatroyd and I get so far! It's been an amazing journey. And you were all a big part!" he tweeted.

Murgatroyd is also still in good spirits.

"#teamjeta forever!!! Thank you so much for everyone who voted for us all season!" she tweeted.

The show will go on, however, and tonight a team will be crowned the victors.

Davis and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy seem to have a good chance as they earned perfect scores last night on their Argentine tango and Freestyle. Team Purdy and Derek Hough almost got a perfect score as well; they earned 30 points for their Salsa but only 29 for their Freestyle. Meanwhile, Bure and an injured Mark Ballas got 27 points for their Quickstep and 24 points for their Freestyle but were complimented on their improvements.

The "Dancing with the Stars" finals conclude tonight at 9/8c on ABC.
