The National Basketball Association has by far the most unique draft of any sports league, a draft lottery. Because of teams blowing games and losing on purpose in the past, a draft lottery was implemented so tanking would not have such a great impact. The 14 worst teams during the regular season will all have a chance at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

It is important to remember that only three teams are directly affected by the lottery. Once the first three teams are picked (by table tennis balls with random team logos) then the remaining teams choose in order of worst record.

This year's draft lottery order is as follows:

  1. Milwaukee Bucks: 25 percent
  2. Philadelphia 76ers: 19.9 percent
  3. Orlando Magic: 15.6 percent
  4. Utah Jazz: 11.9 percent
  5. Boston Celtics: 8.8 percent
  6. Los Angeles Lakers: 6.3 percent
  7. Sacramento Kings: 3.6 percent
  8. Detroit Pistons: 3.5 percent
  9. Cleveland Cavaliers: 1.7 percent
  10. New Orleans Pelicans: 1.1 percent
  11. Denver Nuggets: 0.8 percent
  12. New York Knicks: 0.7 percent
  13. Minnesota Timberwolves: 0.6 percent
  14. Phoenix Suns: 0.5 percent

The lottery will be begin Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. EDT on ESPN. This will be the first time the NBA will have a draft lottery without former NBA Commissioner David Stern, who took over in 1980.

The Bucks have the highest odds at grabbing the No. 1 overall selection in the draft at 25 percent and the Suns have the lowest chance at just 0.5 percent. The lowest probability winner ever is the 1993 Orlando Magic, who had just a 1.5 percent chance at the No. 1 overall pick and got lucky with Chris Webber. The 2008 Chicago Bulls also had just 1.7 percent chance at the No. 1 overall pick, but they got it and chose Derrick Rose. So despite the odds , anything can happen.

This year's upcoming draft June 26 has a lot of great players. Players such as Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker highlight this year's class. Other players like Joel Embiid and Juilius Randle will also be drafted high. Be sure to tune in to see where teams fall in the NBA draft.
