Hollywood mourned as the year of 2016 came to an end. Actress Carrie Fisher, who was famous for her role as Princess Leia in Star wars sequels, died on December 27, 2016, from a heart attack. One day after her passing, her mother, legendary Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds passed away after suffering from a stroke at 84.

This story shows a strong love between mother and daughter. Both will be laid to rest on January at Forest Lawn, as E! News reported. The joint memorial was initiated by Reynolds' son Todd Fisher and Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd.

Both Fisher and Lourd couldn't express how much they lost their loved ones on almost the same day. They thanked everyone for supporting them.

Variety reported that the Golden Globes will pay tribute to legendary mother-daughter pair, who died two days before the ceremony.

Fisher was on an 11-hour flight from London to Los Angeles when she suffered a cardiac arrest. Her autopsy was done on Friday and her body was sent to "a mortuary chosen by the family,"

It is said that Fisher had been cremated as she wished. But some of her ashes will be buried with her beloved mother.

Fisher was known for her role in Star Wars series. But she also starred in some famous movies such as "The Blues Brothers" (1980), "" (1975), and "When Harry Met Sally" (1989). Shampoo was a comedy that became Fisher's debut in Columbia Pictures.

While Reynolds was a legendary Hollywood actress, involved in some comedies and musical. "Singing In The Rain" was her most popular film, made in 1952. She was nominated for the Academy Awards in the Best Actress Category in the "Unsinkable Molly Brown" in 1964.

It was reported that Reynolds was shocked by her daughter's passing. She said she wanted to be Carrie.
