Samsung Galaxy S8 Might Cost More Than the S7
The Mobile World Congress will be one of the most important events for the South Korean firm Samsung. Most of the smartphones from Samsung have been unveiled at the trade fair every year which is why 2017 won't be any different. The Galaxy S8 will also be followed by its bigger brother the S8 Plus that's supposedly being unveiled at the same time.
A recent update in the news confirmed that Samsung's batteries for the S8 and the S8 Plus will, in fact, be sourced by their Japanese competitors Sony. While the actual announcement is expected during the MWC, the product will be available for purchase sometime in March and the exact release date hasn't been specified yet.
At the time of discussing about the phone, details from Trusted Reviews reveal that Samsung has reportedly planned on skipping the announcement at the annual trade show which would now be pushed to an announcement in March with an immediate product release of the Galaxy S8 smartphones following suit, which is likely due to existing battery issues faced by Samsung.
Samsung has already secured an exclusive partnership with Snapdragon for the SD835 chipset totally isolating everybody else from purchasing the chips for a couple of months. Meanwhile, the display specifications might include an advanced AMOLED panel for the new Galaxy S8 smartphones with a bigger screen size at 5.8-inches for the normal variant per reports from Forbes.
As usual, the process of curved side-panels shall be continued further by Samsung due to the popularity of the same in the consumer markets with people opting for phones with curved -side display panels and the various features it offers. Rumors point out to both phones coming out with the aforementioned panels for both the Galaxy S8 smartphones. The main question will be the price point with a price leak indicating that the phones will reportedly be costing more than the existing flagship smartphones by a $100.
