HTC, LG Eyeing New Launches to Indian Markets in Order to End Demonetisation Slump
India's Central Government back in November last year announced a demonetisation move which led to a permanent ban of all old Rs.500 and Rs. 1000 notes that sent shock waves down the spines of all resident Indians. The news resulted in an instant stock market downfall and everyday life pretty much came to a standstill during the initial ban period. The move aimed to curb massive corruption and quick elimination of black money held in the Swiss Bank.
This, in turn, affected all electronic and other types of sales that primarily relied on cash transactions. In turn, all major smartphone manufacturers have pretty much held up major product launches to their Indian customers since November last year. After three months, the regional smartphone market will finally witness some new product releases for which major participants include HTC and South Korean manufacturer LG.
New reports from one of the daily journals, the Indian Express mentions about the possible new models arriving in the markets with both the aforementioned companies being the major participants. Among those included in the list will be the HTC 'U' ultra smartphone that was announced last month in London.
The phone reportedly comes out with a Snapdragon 821 chipset bundled with 4GB of RAM and a 3000mAh battery capacity. Another unique feature is the addition of a dual-display, which their competitors LG implemented in their smartphones. Other product launches include the K-series from LG which will be released in the presence of a cabinet minister.
An in-depth report from BGR discusses all the possible smartphones falling into the K-series line-up of upcoming smartphones with the LG K10 leading the new line-up. Other smartphones scheduled for release include the K3, K4, K8 alongside the K10 itself which are expected to include a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
The primary focus is on the LG K10 due to the octa-core processor from MediaTek alongside external storage capacity peaking at 2TB. The phone will also be equipped with an NFC chip. The K8 and the K10 both will be running on the latest Android Nougat OS v7.0
