Here's the Complete List of Nintendo Switch Downloadable Game File Sizes
Good news for Nintendo Switch players, Nintendo has announced the complete list of their updated downloadable file sizes.
According to IGN, Nintendo has officially published the file sizes for its lineup of downloadable Nintendo Switch games. With that being said, a separate micro SD card is necessary for users who wish to go that route.
That's because "Dragon Quest Heroes" 1 and 2 is a 32 GB download, which is exactly the amount of on-board memory that comes with Nintendo's new console. Set aside 6.1 GB for the Switch's operating system and other software and there's no way to fit this on the console itself.
There's always the option of buying the retail version of some of the beefier games. We already knew "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" takes up 13.4 GB worth of storage space.
Furthermore, the other Nintendo Switch games' file sizes according to the official Nintendo pages are "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe": 7 GB, "Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together" 1.6 GB, "Disgaea" 5 5.92 GB, "Puyo Puyo Tetris" 1.09 GB, "I Am Setsuna" 1.4 GB, and "Nobunaga's Ambition" 5 GB, Gamespot has cited.
Unfortunately, the recently announced file sizes are not very large. Given how small the console's internal memory is, the player will have to delete and reinstall games for those who do not have an SD card. The most recent Nintendo Switch leak confirmed that after installing the main firmware, the game console will only be left with around 25.9 GB worth of usable space, VG 247 reports.
On the bright side, 32 GB and 64 GB SD cards are relatively affordable.
The Nintendo Switch is scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017 in Japan along with "Zelda: Breath of the Wild", "Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2", and a number of other titles. However as of now, it hasn't yet been dated for the West.
