'Kingdom Hearts 3' Updates: New Guard Form, Heartless, and Many More Features Revealed!
Square Enix still refuses to give out official details regarding their planned release date for the long awaited twelfth installment in the "Kingdom Hearts" series, "Kingdom Hearts 3." Fans have of course been waiting for almost a decade for the game to arrive, but despite the long wait, there still seems to be quite the anticipation for the game itself.
According to IGN, a new solo screenshot has been released for "Kingdom Hearts 3," which shows a brand new Heartless and a new Guard Form. The screenshot was revealed during the recently held MAGIC 2017 event in Monaco, France. It was then later uploaded via a post on the game's official Twitter.
The screenshot shows the game's protagonist, Sora, in the city of Thebes. The city is directly taken from the Disney animated movie, "Hercules." Inside what seems to be a coliseum within the city, Sora is shown fighting a giant Heartless. The Heartless is shown to be preparing to attack, while Sora is showcasing a new Keyblade shield Guard Form that should protect him from the oncoming blow.
None of Sora's party members, namely Goofy and Donald, are shown in the screenshot. Game Rant reports that Keyblade Drive Forms may only be executed after party members are fused with the weapon. The character Hercules is also nowhere to be seen and it isn't yet clear if he would become a playable party member when the game finally arrives.
Square Enix has continually been revealing screenshots and teasers over the years. The images and screenshots are apparently used to remind fans that the game is indeed real and that it will be coming out sometime in the future.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, no release windows has been announced. Square Enix is expected to reveal more details about the game at the upcoming 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event in June 2017.
