'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' 20th Anniversary News: David Boreanaz NOT Down for Remakes, Reunions [DETAILS]
David Boreanaz bluntly stated in a recent interview for his current Fox series "Bones" that he is not down for a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" remake or reunion. The iconic TV series turns 20 on March and the actor along with creator Joss Whedon and the main cast of the show has been repeatedly asked for more.
David Boreanaz wasn't always FBI Agent Seeley Booth in "Bones." In fact, he was notable for playing the vampire Angel and one of Buffy's major love interests in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." He also had a spinoff series called "Angel" where it ran for five seasons but was ultimately cancelled after a cliffhanger. The story was continued with a comic book series by Joss Whedon.
In an interview with Parade Magazine, the actor was asked about a remake of the 90's vampire show but was quick to say no. David Boreanaz adds that he is not fond of reunions but has no problems with fans of the show. He adds that he'd rather move forward rather than look back to the projects he's done.
Other "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" cast including the star Sarah Michelle Gellar seems to have the same sentiment as David Boreanaz. According to Cinema Blend, the "Buffy" actress has said no to multiple questions about returning to the show.
While David Boreanaz didn't explicitly say his reasons for not doing returning to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Sarah Michelle Gellar says that she's too old for the role. The actress is nearing her 40s and being a vampire slayer is a lot of work.
Likewise, creator Joss Whedon seems to be on the same plane of thinking as the two.The creator has turned down multiple offers of resurrecting "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to be included in today's series.
