'Deadpool 2' News & Update: 'Deadpool 2' Targeted For 2018 Despite Delays; Producer Simon Kinberg Confirms No Deadpool Cameo in X-Men Movies
"Deadpool 2" is currently in production and casting new actors for known upcoming characters Cable and Domino. The sequel to the R-rated box office hate headlined by Ryan Reynolds as the titular character is expected to film later this year as the new movie will be released by 2018.
"Logan" producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed that "Deadpool 2" already has a script. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool along with Cable and Domino are set to appear and that the cast from "Deadpool" such as Colossus (played by Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (played by Brianna Hilderbrand) are returning. Collider reports that in addition to the sequel, Marvel Studios is also making a new X-Men spinoff "New Mutants."
Deadpool is similar to Wolverine and many fans are expecting the former to have a lot of cameos as the latter in X-Men movies. Fans of both Marvel characters have hoped for crossovers. However, Simon Kinberg has confirmed that Hugh Jackman as Wolverine will not have a cameo in "Deadpool 2." ComicBook reports that Simon Kinberg confirmed the news in an interview with Erik Davis for Fandango.
"Logan" will be Hugh Jackman's last movie as the clawed mutant, "Wolverine" and "Deadpool 2" has not yet started filming. It seems like fans of the two will technically never see the mutants in one scene either as a crossover or a cameo ever. Hugh Jackman will not also be appearing in future X-Men movies as well. This same goes for Deadpool as well.
"Deadpool 2" will be directed by David Leitch, director of "John Wick 2." It is not known if the sequel will be R-18 like its predecessor but going by the reports, it seems more than likely.
