James Cameron’s Avatar ‘Cutting Edge’ Game to Build by Ubisoft’s Snowdrop Engine; Details, Released Date Revealed
Ubisoft had recently announced that James Cameron's Avatar reportedly under work again in the development at The Division studio Ubisoft Massive. The new and untitled Avatar game will be working hand in hand alongside James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox interactive.
According to the reports, the game is coming to unspecified PC and consoles yet as there is no much details has been released. Aside from the fact that the game focuses on "Avatar world of Pandora." IGN reported that the partnership was agreed upon after the developer showed a game prototype built on its own Snowdrop engine. The game was described as a "cutting-edge."
There hasn't been gameplay footage released for the game Avatar yet but a teaser video has been released. The video features the comments of the people from Ubisoft Massive and from the Avatar's director, Cameron itself. The production stated that they will continue expanding and deepening the Avatar Universe in innovative and much exciting ways.
According to David Polfeldt, the managing director of Ubisoft Massive. He claimed that Cameron and the Lightstorm Entertainment changed the way how they think about the immersive storytelling with the first Avatar. The ambition that they have for the upcoming films and the game was just inspiring, The Verge has reported.
"It is a privilege to work with them and honored that they have entrusted us to create the Avatar name," Polfeldt further stated. Meanwhile, Cameron seems to be very excited about the upcoming Avatar game after he has seen the early game prototype by Ubisoft Massive.
Cameron stated he believes that Ubisoft's team at Massive Entertainment are definitely the right partners to bring the danger and beauty of Pandora to life. He was impressed bythe group's passion for the Avatar's project and Massive's Snowdrop engine.There hasn't any confirmed released date yet for the new Avatar game but the production is set to underway this year.
