Report: Mexico Is Going To Pay For The Border Wall, Said Mike Pence
The US Vice President Mike Pence stressed in an interview that Mexico will pay for President Trump's proposed border wall. Pence's remark arrives after President Donald Trump omitted his campaign pledge to get Mexico to pay for the project from his address before a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28.
According to OPPOSING VIEWS, on Wednesday, Pence praised president's address. He asserted that the president has outlined how he would follow all the promises during his presidential campaign.
The Vice President said," one of the things people saw last night is that the candidate Donald Trump is the president Donald Trump. In an interview with ABC News, he said," we're going to build a wall. We're going to enforce the laws of this country".
However, at the time of the presidential campaign, Trump had repeated his familiar campaign promise to build a wall along the border. But in his campaign, he did not mention his pledge to make Mexico pay for the wall.
THE HILL has reported that Trump signed an executive order last month authorizing construction of the wall. "The US will soon begin the construction of a great, great wall along our Southern border", said by Donald Trump. But he did not mention that Mexico will pay for this.
On the other side, the Mexican government has repeatedly dismissed the idea that his country would pay for the wall. The Mexican president announced that the government would not help to fulfill Trump's campaign promise. Mexican government stated that the idea of the proposed wall was already insulting to Mexicans.
After the controversial debate Mexican president Pena Nieto has canceled the US visit. Both of the leaders agreed not to discuss the proposal publicly.
The Department of Homeland Security has already proposed the border cost that would be more than $21 billion to complete. The new report has suggested that already 225 companies expressed their interest in the working of the project.
