Amazon Prime Services Now Officially Available in Mexico
Amazon launched its full-fledged operations (as Amazon.com.mx) in Mexico approximately two years back from now. Just within this short timeline, the company now brings its dedicated free shipping and video streaming services to the region. Beginning from the Tuesday, users of this country can now subscribe to Amazon Prime. The membership for Prime is now live in Mexico.
According to TechCrunch, primarily, Amazon Prime membership will allow customers and buyers to choose from a wide range of 20 million products and to grab them for unlimited free delivery for the price of 449 pesos ($23). However, this offer will stay valid until the end of the first year as per insiders. From the next year, the free delivery offerings limit would rise up to the standard price range of 899 pesos ($46). Besides products sold in Mexican regions, users can now even grab their favourite items from the United States Amazon EE, UU and elsewhere as well.
As per a report by Engadget, besides all the usual services of Amazon, buyers having Prime memberships in Mexico will even have the access to free same day delivery advantage in a wide queue of exclusive products. Amazon Prime subscribers will also get the access to Prime Video in the country. In this manner, Amazon's dedicated video streaming service will compete directly with Netflix, which apparently comprises around 1.2 million regular subscribers in Mexico. Amazon officially stated that Prime subscribers will be able to enjoy "hundreds of popular movies and TV shows," alongside Amazon original titles through Prime Video.
Amazon has achieved a quantitative hike in various regions with its Prime subscription.The company is also expected to take up the major stakes of Mexico in this segment as well. The online sales are thought to overlap $6 million in this region by the end of 2018 with respect to the range of $2.9 million in 2015.
