Verizon HTC One Release Date: Smartphone Rumored to be Released by Verizon on August 29
The HTC One is finally coming to Verizon Aug. 29, Gotta Be Mobile reports. After Big Red tweeted via @VZWnews, the company's official news handle, people have been clamoring for more information on the HTC One's exact debut date on Verizon.
"It's coming -- the HTC One will be available on the #Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network later this summer," @VZWnews posted.
The excitement over the news of HTC One finally coming to Verizon is partly due to the fact that before the announcement, Verizon was the only carrier not offering the handset. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile already joined the One bandwagon even before the Verizon announcement.
According to an initial report by Phone Arena, the HTC One was supposedly released Aug. 1, after an internal Verizon memo was sent to Phone Arena by a reader. Days after the release of the leaked memo, another Phone Arena report claimed that Verizon is putting off the release of the HTC One to Aug. 15. Another leaked Verizon Wireless roadmap was the basis for the rumor, but reasons for the delay of the release were not indicated. It is assumed that the delay was an attempt to avoid having a limelight clash between the HTC One and the Moto X announcement.
Notably, a recent report by Gotte Be Mobile reveals a leaked a photo of a blue HTC One rumored to have been created for Verizon. The photo was released as a press image from @evleaks.
The blue HTC One does not have a Verizon branding on the image making it even more controversial and leaving open the possibility that the blue HTC One will be offered on a carrier other than Verizon.
Phone Arena now claims that the release date for Verizon HTC One has once again been pushed back, to Aug. 29, after the launch of the new Droid devices and the Moto X, which is rumored to arrive on the 23rd. Verizon has remained silent on the matter. When asked about color variations, operating system, price details and other information regarding Verizon HTC One, the company responded with the same season-specific time frame it tweeted back in June.
