Moto G5 Plus, Motorola 5th Generation Phone Makes Its Way To Indian Market
On Wednesday Motorola launched the fifth generation of its best-selling Moto G series Moto G5 Plus in the Indian market at a price of Rs14,999 onwards. The Company have launched the smartphones in two versions - 3GB RAM/16GB memory and 4GB RAM/32GB memory - for Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999 respectively. These will go on sale from 15th March on Flipkart.
According to EconomicTimes, the device is equipped with a full metal body design, with a faster processor and better camera functionality, the Moto G5 will compete with handsets from Xiaomi, Micromax as well as those from the stable of its parent -- Lenovo. India is one of the first markets globally where we are launching the Moto G5 Plus.
As per Gadgets 360, the Moto G5 Plus will receive support for Google Assistant, and the company has revealed that a future update will bring this feature to the smartphone. The company is also introducing the Moto Display feature, which lets users preview notifications without unlocking the smartphone.
The device was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February last month. The Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2-inches display, with a 2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM, removable storage of up to 128GB, as far as camera's concern the device sports a 12 megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front facing cameras and backed by 3,000 mAh battery.
At the end 2016, Lenovo and Motorola had 8.9% share of the Indian smartphone market, according to a research firm IDC. The Indian smartphone market has seen a significant shift in the last few important quarters with homegrown brands are being pushed out of the top five positions by Chinese brands like Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
The Moto G5 Plus launch offers include an additional Rs.1,500 discount on exchange and additional 10 percent discount on SBI cards zero interest on EMIs starting at Rs. 1,889 a month, and also the Moto Pulse 2 headset - which costs Rs. 1,299 - can be purchased at discounted price of 50 percent. Flipkart has also announced a BuyBack Guarantee, where users will be assured of a fixed exchange discount of Rs. 7,000 for their Moto G5 Plus for up to 8 months after purchase.
