AMD Finally Brings Solution To Its Ryzen Processors' Crashing Problems
AMD has finally announced that the company will be rolling out the solutions to the problem witnessed by many on the latest Ryzen branded processors. The microchip giant stated that it has finally found out a way to resolve the issue marked by FMA3 code which is causing system hangs on PCs using any of the newly launched Ryzen desktop processors. It should be noted in this context that AMD unveiled its innovative and advanced Zen technology based Ryzen processors just in the first week of March 2017.
In the initial stage, AMD released three Ryzen branded desktop processors at the beginning of this March. All these can be plugged into new gen motherboards using the support of AMD branded AM4 socket. These include the Ryzen 7 1800X, the Ryzen 7 1700X, and the Ryzen 7 1700 chipsets. At the beginning days only, according to revealing of HWBOT forum, all the three cards faced severe backlogs and hard system locks while running certain quotients of FMA3 workloads. These issues were evenly reported from the users from all parts.
However, as per a report by Digital Trends, AMD has now discovered the root cause of these issues. The company stated: We are aware of select instances where FMA code can result in a system hang," further adding "We have identified the root cause." AMD even declared that it will soon deliver the evolved BIOS instructions for resolving these issues to the motherboards and system manufacturers. The company even instructed the users to keep an eye on their motherboard maker's official websites to get the updated solution for resolving these problems on their devices.
The FMA3 is an example of the Fused Multiply-Add (FMA) microprocessor. This issue may crash a simple app with basic users instruction. AMD's solution is expected to fix all sorts of FMA3 issues without any crash.
