OnePlus has finally added a matte black color option in their OnePlus 3T smartphone. As expected, the Chinese hardware startup has announced a new OnePlus 3T Midnight Black variant with a black matte finish. The handset is similar to the previously announced OnePlus 3T Colette edition but lacks the Colette engraving. Oneplus says this new black variant will be available in limited numbers but the limit has not been disclosed yet.

According to Gadgets 360, the OnePlus 3T Midnight Black Limited Edition will be available via HypeBeast on Friday at 4 pm GMT. In India, the new variant will go on sale on March 31 sale at 2 pm till stocks last. It will be sold through three channels - Amazon.in, OnePlusStore.in, and the OnePlus Experience Store in Bengaluru. Pre-orders on Amazon India begin on Thursday.

As per Digit, OnePlus claims to have been working on a black color variant for "close to a year now" and it took over 30 variations to reach the all-black design. This limited edition of the OnePlus 3T is pulled out of the same space-grade aluminum that lent the original OnePlus 3 and 3T devices their class and durability. A 14 microns dark coating thickness is diligently applied to the surface of the phone, imbuing the device with a stunning black color built to last, the company said in its blog post.

As far as hardware's concern, the device is not coming with too many changes from its existing variants. It offers a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset clubbed with a 6GB RAM. The Midnight Black color variant will only be available in 128GB storage option. The smartphone features a 16-Megapixel front and rear camera and runs OxygenOS with an update to Android Nougat. The smartphone also comes with a 3400mAh battery along with support for dash charging.
