"Guardians of the Galaxy" is the upcoming film by Marvel Studios, which has produced many top global blockbuster franchises including "Captain America", "Thor", and "Iron Man". This will be the 10th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is based on the comics with the same name from 2008. It will feature a team composed of extraterrestrials who defeat foes such as Thanos. The action-packed film will be an epic space adventure, expanding Marvel's Cinematic Universe further into the cosmos.

The main character, who is a brash adventurer named Peter Quill, becomes the object of an intense bounty hunt after he steals the mysterious orb. This orb has also been an item of interest to the powerful villain Ronan, whose main ambition is to threaten the entire universe.

In his efforts to evade Ronan, Quill is forced to join a rather bizarre quintet of misfits in an uneasy truce to form a team that will eventually become the galaxy's guardians. The team is composed of Rocket, who is a raccoon with a gun, the enigmatic and deadly Gamora, the tree-like humanoid Groot, and Drax the Destroyer, who is driven by revenge.

Peter Quill, who calls himself Star-Lord, will be played by Chris Pratt. Dave Bautista is Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper is Rocket, Vin Diesel is Groot, and Zoe Saldana is Gamora. Josh Brolin has been confirmed to portray the role of the villain Thanos. And of course, as is the case with all of the other Marvel films, Stan Lee will have a cameo appearance. In relation to the other films, Thanos has been seen in a "The Avengers" mid-credits scene while Teneleer Tivan, also known as The Collector, appeared in the mid-credits scene of "Thor: The Dark World". "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be released in the United States on Aug. 14 of this year.
