'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Featurette The Origin of Saw Gerrera; Gary Whitta Hinted the show was made like ‘Zero Dark Thirty’
There are reportedly many alternate endings in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and fans of the movie are probably burnt by now. It's a good thing that the movie will now soon to be released on DVD and Blu-ray. Lucasfilm has also teased its special features and hinted the disc will be packed when hitting the stores.
In the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" Blu-ray and DVD, one of its segment will focus on the character of Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. George Lucas first created that character of Gerrera in the animated series "Clone Wars."
It can't deny the fact that Saw Garrera's rebellious guerilla tactics were totally on full display on the said show and reaping for what his character has become in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Reports claimed that during that episode, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Clone Trooper train Saw with his sister are in advanced warfare.
According to the report, it is an effort to prepare the character for the upcoming battle against the Separatists. In the movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," Gerrera's character had splintered over the main Rebel Alliance because of his extreme actions and views, Collider has reported.
He was all known to be a terrorist and be a refugee in Jedha. Saw Gerrera was also featured in the "Star Wars Rebels" in its latest episode which was also voiced by Forest Whitaker.
The previous episode of the series serves to be the prequel of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." According to Rayne Roberts, the creative executive of Lucasfilm Story group, she stated that the group further legitimize the story. She further shared that George left some ideas behind for the character.
So, the group just followed the footsteps of what the story has already been told, according to Pablo Hidalgo. Also shared that fans see Saw Gerrera as a broken person and soon realize that this was the lifetime fighting the Empire can turn him into, CTV News has reported.

With just a few days left before the movie will be available on Digital HD and soon released on DVD and Blu-ray this April 4. Fans will be getting an insight how it was a big risk for film crew's flirtation with the "uncanny valley."
