Tesla's Model 3: Dashboard Won't Be As Advanced, Elon Musk Says
Just recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has struck the hopes and dreams of potential Model 3 owners through just a few simple and honest tweets. In his tweets, Musk emphasized and made it clear that Tesla's upcoming Tesla Model 3 electric car will not be as advanced, in any way, then the company's flagship Model S.
Elon Musk explained that the upcoming Tesla Model 3 is just a smaller, more affordable version of the Tesla Model S, having lesser range and power, including fewer features. According to BGR, Musk also said that the Model S has a lot more advanced technology and that the Model 3 will not be featuring the elegant auto-extend handles feature that Tesla introduced on the Model S.
The reason why Elon Musk opted towards spilling the beans regarding the overall performance of the Tesla Model 3 is because of the extremely bizarre levels of hype and speculation that has been surrounding the Tesla Model 3 in recent months. Since the Model 3 prototype that Tesla unveiled last year lacked any instrument panel with traditional gauges for items like range, speed and other types of information, many avid Tesla enthusiasts are beginning to wonder if Tesla had any special plan for the Model 3's dashboard, with many speculations that a heads up display (HUD) on the windshield is going to be a possibility.
However, according to Yahoo!, Tesla doesn't have any secret plans about implementing some advanced HUD on the Tesla Model 3. In a recent tweet which addresses the matter, Musk said that as cars become more and more independent, the need for a suite of information regarding the car's performance becomes less of an issue.
Still, Musk also said that right now, it is still long ways off before people experience fully self-driving cars. In turn, it is still unlikely whether the Tesla Model 3 design in its current incarnation is perhaps still too far ahead of its time.
