TJ Leaf Joins Lonzo Ball For 2017 NBA Draft; Leaving The UCLA Bruins With Two Huge Holes
TJ Leaf, the UCLA's leading scorer freshman won't be returning for the next season and is planning to leave the Bruins. He expresses his thought through his official twitter account tweeting that he was hiring an agent and declared to enter the NBA draft.
On Thursday afternoon, he was thanking the Bruins for the all the support as he and his family decided to declare for the NBA draft 2017. The freshman power forward, TJ Leaf will be leaving the Bruins after 1 season playing with them.
He recalled that it was a huge decision for him and for his entire family, also claimed that it was the hardest decision of his life. Unlike Lonzo Ball, Leaf's colleague in Bruins, reports suggest that TJ appeared to be wavering in his decision saying that he loved the UCLA "everything in me."
Lonzo Ball is also a freshman who declared his intentions for the NBA draft right after the UCLA's season has ended in a NCAA tournament South Regional semifinal. According to TJ Lead on Thursday, the fans have been amazing and also the coaches. But Leaf called out for Coach Alford for bringing the best in him and saying thank you is not enough.
Coach Alford also shared a statement via Brian Hamilton of Sports Illustrated and saying that TJ has a great season with them that he support whole heartedly his decision to pursue his dream. Coach Alford Steve also claimed that TJ Lead has brought so much to the team whether it is on or off the court.
The UCLA family are all excited to watch him growing at the next level and in the NBA. Bleach report reported that the 19-year-old Isreali-American has an average of 8.2 rebounds, 16.3 points, 1.1 blocks, 2.4 assists in the 35 games at UCLA as a freshman.
It also includes 7 rebounds in Bruins and 17 points. TJ Leaf shots 61.7 percent from the field and 46.6 percent from beyond the arc.
