'Persona 5' Update: Game Has Hard Barrier On Screenshots & Video Capture; Sharing Is Blocked In PS4
Many consider an easy-to-use, in-game capture functionality as one of the best aspects of the console generation. Taking screenshots and video footages, or even streaming a game is usually a mere button press away. These features are commonly found on renowned gaming consoles like the PS4, Xbox One, and eve on newer ones like the Nintendo Switch and "Persona 5".
The rare absence of this feature could hit hard on a gaming console or even a game. Most players love to capture some epic moments, and without the feature of being able to do so, many would be disappointed, just like "Persona 5".
However, there are certain games that would prohibit players from capturing their in-game key moments, where story-crucial cut scenes are often the main offenders, but restrictions on taking screenshots and video recordings can extend even further. According to Destructoid, such is the disappointing case with our the hit Japanese role-playing game "Persona 5," which will be dropping next week in North America.
In a recently issued statement, a spokesperson for "Persona 5" game developer, Atlus, confirmed the restriction for the localized version of the game. According to the statement that was conveyed by The Verge, "Persona 5," being a Japanese title with solely a single playthrough story would mean that Japan is very much wary of it, which is why "sharing of screenshots and video footages in the game is currently blocked through the native PlayStation 4 UI."
So, to make things fully clear about the said statement by Atlus, the player will not be able to use the Share button when playing "Persona 5." This means that it would take a lot more time and effort than what was the usual thing just to show a player's clutch "Throbbing King of Desire" capture to the world of gaming whether you use external equipment or opt towards taking a much-less-than-ideal phone pic.
This news is just unfortunate for "Persona 5" players. But nonetheless, most players say that life goes on and that they will still continue playing the game.
