Kendrick Lamar's 'Damn' Guests Rihanna & U2; Album Will Not Be Addressing Any Politcal Problem Instead Talking About Family & Community
With just a few days left, fans wait no more as Kendrick Lamar is about to release his latest album titled "Damn" on April 14. His forthcoming album is said to be the follow-up to his 2015 album titled "To Pimp A Butterfly."
Kendrick Lamar recently teased his fans by releasing two songs from his album titled "Humble" and "The Heart Part 4." The two songs released ignite more excitement from his fans who have always been known him for his songs speaking heavily to issues facing the world.
According to the reports, fans should expect more heavy hitting release from Kendrick Lamar this Friday as it got to be a massive week for him. So, here are the details about the upcoming album of Lamar. First off, "Damn" is set to be released this Friday, April 4, Entertainment Weekly has reported.
Lamar teased on April 7 his song "The Heart Part 4," though many fans thought the album arrived. But, the album went live for the pre-order. According to the reports, his 14-track album "Damn" will stand on its own, not like the previous album released in 2016 "Untitled Unmastered."
Moreover, there are only two guests in Lamar's upcoming "Damn" album compared to his previous album wherein it includes Marron 5, Beyonce, The Weeknd, and Sia. Now, his new album will only feature U2 who's working with him on the song "XXX" and Rihanna will be featured in the song "Royalty."
March 30's released song "Humble" has made to Lamar's official list in "Damn." Also, has become his highest-charting single, ranking No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 just this week. According to The New York Times, Lamar's new album will not be less political album compared to his previous released.
In the said interview, Kendrick Lamar called his "Damn" album very urgent as he has recorded his album in much different headspace than his 2016 album. He further stated that he wanted to go back to his community and others around the work who are all doing the groundwork. Lamar concluded that "Damn" will not be addressing the problem unlike the previous one.
