Android 7.0 Nougat Now Live In Samsung Galaxy Phones With Sprint, Verizon And AT&T Carriers
Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ courtesy of U.S. carriers Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. The latest update will just be available for the mentioned phones but soon all compatible models will receive the new Nougat operating systems along with a few new features and improvements from Samsung.
Sprint was one of the first carriers to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat to Samsung Galaxy phones and lately the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have been added to Sprint's list, Phone Arena reported. Samsung users who own a Galaxy S6 will be getting G920PVPU4DQC7 firmware version while the S6+ gets G925PVPU4DQC7 firmware build version; each update is 1.1GB and users are cautioned to set aside ample free space to successfully download Android 7.0 Nougat.
Meanwhile, AT&T has yet to provide the changelog for Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for the Note 5 but the build number for the update has been released. Update number NRD90M with 1.4GB file size is for the Note 5 along with the carrier's OTA March 2017 Android security patches included, Android Authority reported.
AT&T's changelog for the Galaxy S6 edge+ has been updated with build number NRD90M at 1.51GB. This update is for the Android 7.0 Nougat and for the March 2017 Android security patches with Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass.
Samsung has also included a new UX, additional performance modes, improved usability for the Notification feature as well as a new Quick settings button in the new update. Samsung users won't just enjoy using their phones with the new Android 7.0 Nougat but will also have better Multi windows and setting menus.
The Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest operating system for Android phones. There are reports that Google will be announcing the next OS anytime soon and reports said that the next OS is the Google Android 8.0 Oreo following Google's tradition.
