With the FIFA World Cup just weeks away, coaches are making their final team cuts to prepare for the biggest soccer tournament in the world.

Argentina is always a country that the world has its eyes on because of the soccer talent that surrounds the nation. Argentina has won two World Cups, the last coming in 1986 against West Germany. Their last appearance in a World Cup Finals was in 1990, which was also against West Germany.

Similar to the United States leaving off Landon Donovan, the Argentinean team decided to leave Carlos Tevez off their team. The 30-year-old forward played in the last two World Cups for Argentina and played quite well, so this comes as a big surprise. Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella has been facing much scrutiny. Many Argentinean soccer fans have protested for Tevez to be placed on the team.

Regardless of Tevez, Argentina still has a World Cup to win, and their 23-man roster is the following:

Goalkeepers

Sergio Romero is the starting goaltender for Argentina, having recently played for Monaco FC. Romero is 27 years old, and he played in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Argentina is going to need Romero to be great between the pipes this year. The other two goalies for Argentina this year are Agustín Orión and Mariano Andújar.

Defenders

Argentina's defense is led by Martín Demichelis. Demichelis has played for Manchester City, and Pablo Zabaleta will be helping him on defense. Many Argentines are worried that this team does not have the defense to compete against the top level teams. Other defenders include Marcos Rojo, José María Basanta, Federico Fernández, Hugo Campagnaro and Ezequiel Garay.

Middle Fielders

Javier Mascherano and Fernando Gago lead the middle of the field for Argentina. Gago has a great eye for finding the open man, going all the way to his playing days with Real Madrid. The middle fielders may have to assist the defenders extra this year by allowing fewer shots on goal to secure victory. Other middle fielders include Lucas Bigli, Ángel di María, Maxi Rodríguez, Enzo Pérez, Ricardo Álvarez and Augusto Fernándeza.

Forwards

There's no doubt that Argentina packs a punch offensively. Lionel Messi is the captain of the team and has a little bit of World Cup experience in the past. Gonzalo Higuaín is fully capable of scoring from anywhere on the field with his shot, and Sergio Agüero is as fast and good a passer as you will see. Only injuries will hold him back. Other forwards for Argentina include Rodrigo Palacio and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Argentina looks to win their first World Cup title since 1986, and a youthful offense will be leading the way.
