The ultimate goal of a university is to accept diversity behind their students' different cultures. A university must ensure that students are comfortable and are at ease once they entered the campus. Hence, the mental and psychological domains of students must be well acculturated aside from their welfare. Today, let's take a look at the top 10 universities that attract latino students the most.

The data recently gathered by U.S. news annual survey highlighted the top 10 universities that attract latino students who are seeking undergraduate degrees in the fall of 2017. According to a report published in usnews.com, the following are the universities that attract latino students:

TOP 10 UNIVERSITIES (The number of student population is updated as of 2019)

1. CaliforniaState University - Dominguez Hills is a public institution that was founded in 1960 with an estimated student population of 15, 741 and 62.3 per cent of the students enrolled are Hispanics. The tuition fees of the university vary according to the state where the students belong. If the student is living within the California State, the tuition fee is estimated to cost around $8,140. However, if the student is living outside California, the fees can skyrocket as high as $17,644. They also offer room and board to accomodate students living away from their families for $13,043.

2. California State University- San Bernardino with an estimated student population of 19,973, this is a public institution that was founded in 1962 with more than 63.5 percent of its student population are Hispanic students. Just like CSU Dominguez Hills, the tuition fees for those students are within the state is $6,926 while those who are from outside the state is $13,064. They also offer room and board for an amount of $13,435.

3. California State University- Los Angeles is a public insitution that was founded in 1947 and has an estimated student population of 27,685; 65.6 percent of those are Hispanics. The university is also known as Cal State LA. The tuition fees for students who are from within the state is $6,763 and $18,643 for those who are from outside the state. They also offer room and board for an amount of $12,198.

4. Florida International University is a public institution that was founded in 1972 and has a total population of 58,064 and 66.9 percent of these students are Hispanics. The tuition fee of students who are from the state is $6,558 and $18,956 for those who are from outside the state. They also offer room and board for an amount of $10,882.

5. St. Mary's of San Antonio is a private instiution that was founded in 1852 with an estimated student population of 3,648 and 67.5 percent of these students are Hispanics. Its tuition fee is $32,140 for students inside and outside the state.

6. Texas A&M University -Kingsville is a public institution that was founded in 1925 and has an estimated student population of 8,541 and 75.1 percent of these students are Hispanics. The tuition fee for students coming within the state is $8,628 and $21,791 for those who are from outside the state. They also offer room and board amountng to $8,760.

7. Our Lady of the Lake University is a private institution that was founded in 1895 and has an estimated student population of 3,149 and 76 percent of these students are Hispanics. The tuition fee is a flat rate of $29,218 for all students, regardless of their origin of residency.

8. University of Texas-El Paso is a public institution that was founded in 1914 and has an estimated population of 25,151 and 83.7 percent of these students are Hispanics. The tuition fee for students who are coming within the state is $7,998 and $22,429 for those who are not from the state. They also offer room and board amounting to $9,781.

9. University of Texas- Rio Grande is a public institution that was founded in 2013 and has an estimated student population of 28,644 and 91.7 percent of these students are Hispanics. The tuition fee for students who are from the state is $7,813 and $17,773 for those students who are not from the state. They also offer room and board amounting to $8,124.

10. Texas A&M International university is a public institution that was founded in 1970 and has an estimated student population of 7,884. The tuition fee for students who are coming from within the state is $9,474 and $22,134 for students who are not coming from the state. They also offer room and board amounting to $8,618.

Despite the availability and diversity of these universities that attract latino students, one of the prevalent dilemmas that students encounter is the skyrocketing cost of higher education. However, a report published in NBC News recounted many scholarships available for Hispanic or Latino students.

It is said that there are more than 7 million scholarships worth $41 billion in aid. Two of these scholarships are Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship and Esperanza Education Fund. More scholarship offerings can be accessed through the website of Tuition Funding Scholarships.
