Conan is invited to visit the White House. President Trump had tweeted, Conan will be "leaving the Middle East for the White House sometime next week!"
Conan, US military dog that killed the ISIS leader, Baghdadi, is among the other military dogs that were trained since birth to work alongside United States military personnel.
President Trump had praised the editor of the photo (Daily Wire) and promised the "live version" of the photo in the coming weeks.
Conan is not the dog's real name. His assumed name was from Conan O'Brien, a television host. His assumed name was given by Newsweek Reports because the military had rules not to disclose the dog's name.
Conan, the US military dog that killed the ISIS leader, Baghdadi belongs to the Belgian Malinois' breed.
The name of the canine is not allowed to be shared to the public because of its involvement with the raid that took the life of the ISIS leader Baghdadi.
According to the United States Central Commander General Frank McKenzie, the Belgian Malinois military dog was injured during the mission that ended the ISIS leader's life. The dog got in contact with live electric wires while chasing for Baghdadi through a tunnel below a structure in the north-western part of Syria.
Conan, the US military dog that killed the ISIS leader, Baghdadi had serviced the military for four years. He had been involved with special missions and had participated in more or less 50 military operations.
According to the chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, the dog had trained with military troops since its birth.
Based on a statement issued by General McKenzie, military dogs or military working dogs (MWDs) are "critical members of our forces."
There are hundreds of breeds of dogs in the world. They vary in size, shape, hair thickness, ear shape, tail length, eye color, physical capabilities, strength, and more. The best ones depend on the need and requirement a person or owner has for the desired companion.
Majority of the dogs trained by the United States military belongs to the Belgian Malinois, German shepherd, and Dutch shepherd breeds. They are chosen by military personnel for their intelligence, aggressiveness, loyalty, and physical capabilities.
According to the former Marine dog handler Ron Aiello, these dog breeds are an ideal fit for the first line of defense during military missions.
A military working dog belonging to the Belgian Malinois breed was also the dog breed that assisted and empowered the United States Navy Seals in 2011 during their mission to raid the group of Osama bin Laden, the Al-Qaeda leader. This military operation had resulted in the death of the feared terrorist leader.
Most of the military working dogs of the United States of America are being trained together with the 341st Training Squadron. They are in the Air Force Base in Lackland, San Antonio, located in the state of Texas. The MWDs are mobilized to patrol and control illegal drug activities, participate in military missions, and locate explosive devices.
