US Hispanic Workforce is Increasing Annually
As the population of the Hispanic community increases at a fast pace and every year, the US Hispanic workforce is increasing annually and contributing to the economic growth of the United States of America.
Based on a new report released by Peterson Institute for International Economics, it had predicted that US Hispanic workforce will create a positive impact on the growth of the United States of America's economy for the following years. It was estimated that the US Hispanic workforce is increasing annually and will contribute more or less 0.21% to the yearly real GDP growth in the United States for the next 3 decades.
It was predicted that in the year 2025, the US Hispanic workforce will be contributing more to the GDS of the United States than the non-Hispanic workers in the US. Another prediction that is expected to occur between 2019 and 2048 is that eighty-five percent of the new job positions will be obtained by the Hispanic workforce in the United States of America.
According to a report called The Economic Benefits of Latino Immigration: How the Migrant Hispanic Population's Demographic Characteristics Contribute to U.S. Growth which was supported by EY, there is a booming interest of company in creating a deeper understanding of the presence of diverse cultures in the workplace because forty percent of the 15,000 graduates with college degrees and highly skilled professionals that are being hired by the company are from ethnic-minority groups.
Director Ken Bouyer of EY claimed that the definition of diversity had evolved throughout his years serving the company. He said that it was first regarded as concerning gender and minority populations in the company. Its definition had evolved since then which had included the issues with veterans, PWDs, LGBTQ groups, and generational diversity. He also said that the company was concentrating on the issue of diversity on a broad-based point-of-view.
Director Bouyer also emphasized that the company's concentration on hiring diversely had implemented to partly and positively influence innovation and leadership. It also adds a good image (for diversified clients and other prospects) to the company for employing a diversified workforce.
The success of employing a diversified workforce including those from Hispanic origins requires multiple conversations since the population of the US Hispanic workforce is increasing annually. An example of this activity for newly hired minority group members is the program called EY Unplugged.
Being an African-American, Bouyer also tells that he participates in the lengthy talks with the newly hired minority group members to share experiences.
The Unplugged session involves a question-and-answer portion. Most of the participants in these events are first-generation college students. This provides an opportunity for the speakers of the event to share their experiences working in the US and for EY.
The focus of EY's yearly Milestone professional-development program for the promoted and senior leaders of the company is a session under the leadership of Doctor Mahzarin Banaji, a Harvard Psychologist. The concentration of the event is to promote learning for the overall population of the firm regarding the challenges of diversity and inclusion.
