Earlier this week, Selena Gomez became the talk of the media industry following her performance in the American Music Awards (AMA). A close friend of Selena Gomez told the PEOPLE that she has suffered a panic attack prior to her much-anticipated performance.

It can be remembered that Selena Gomez had not performed on stage for two years due to health reasons. But this two-year hiatus was broken during the American Music Awards on Sunday, when she performed her hit songs Lose You to Love Me and Look at Her Now.

Fans observed that Selena Gomez was very emotional during her performance. The two songs that she performed were all about moving on. It was then that the fans started to speculate that the young star suffered from a panic attack which was later confirmed by one of her closest friends.

In an article published in E! News, a reliable source told them that "Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself." Meanwhile, according to the source, Selena sounds better during the rehearsal but just a minute before she performed, that was when things started to go downhill for the singer.

However, the star still enjoyed the night despite what happened. She even sang along with the audience most especially when her best friend Taylor Swift took the stage. It was not a good night for Selena but she was in a good spirits afterward with her family and friends.

After the AMA, Selena posted in her Instagram account "Feels good to be back and thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me. All of this is for you and because of you. excited for this chapter." It can be recalled that Selena did an outstanding performance during the AMA 2014, 2015 and 2017 and sang her own composed song Wolves.

Meanwhile, fans of Selena Gomez has been waiting for her new solo album since 2015. It is not undeniable anymore that Selena suffered from lupus, which prompted her to undergo a kidney transplant. Fortunately, her best friend Francia Raisa donated her other kidney to Selena.

Selena's comeback this year is surprising despite the health problems she encountered. Earlier this month, she released her new solo album Lose You to Love Me that became no.1 on Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Its stream skyrocketed into 38.8 million during the first week of November.

Selena Gomez posted in her social media account after her latest achievement, "My first number 1!! This song is so dear to my heart. I've been working so hard to make this album as honest and fun as possible while remaining vulnerable enough to share where I am in life."

She even added "I love you deeply and thank you so much for listening and I want to thank each and every person that was [a part] of this moment that I'll never forget!"

This only means that Gomez's fans, family, and friends stood with her behind the struggles she encountered from career, love life, and health. And now, she is coming back to the scene with more confidence and will make her fans to enjoy her music again. It can be recalled also that one of the battles that Selena Gomez experienced was after her painful breakup with Justin Bieber. In fact, most of her songs were inspired from their on-and-off whirlwind romance.
