Presidential Hopefuls Are Having Trouble Resolving Immigration Issues for Latino Voters
A majority of the Democrats are supporting the ease of the current immigration laws being implemented in the United States of America. The 2020 presidential candidates of the Democratic Party are still finding the immigration issue a problematic part of their campaign.
The issues involved with the immigration laws being implemented in the country and the promises of the Democrats on how to put ease with the current situations of those who are under the law will be a significant determining factor in their campaign, especially for the Latino voters. News had been saying of the relevant effect of the votes of Latinos in the outcomes of elections especially in states where their population is large.
In this election period, Latino youth are expressing their concerns regarding the current immigration laws. They are intensely influencing the candidates to provide a better administration where the Latin communities in the country such as allowing the "Dreamers" an opportunity to be citizens of the US and putting a stop to their and their loved ones' deportation.
It is becoming a dilemma for Democratic Party presidential candidates to find a balance between providing a solution to the current immigration law issues in the country while still satisfying the demands of the other groups of voters.
Other communities are expressing their dislikes for the Former Vice President Joe Biden for being an ally to the Obama Administration's record for deporting immigrants.
Biden even said to a protester to "vote Trump" when he was repeatedly asked by the protester to end the deportations.
Other problems that had to arise during Biden's campaign was the resignation of his senior campaign manager in charge of reaching out to the Latino communities in the country. Two of the friends of Biden's former senior campaign staff had said that Biden's team was not considering her inputs on how Biden can reach-out to the Latino community and her other advice regarding immigration.
Latino Decision's co-founder Matt Baretto had said that numerous Latino voters are focusing on Democratic Party presidential candidates and demanding a significant action towards the current immigration law in the United States.
Julián Castro had promised to make crossing the border a legal action instead of the current laws being executed under President Trump's administration.
According to the results of a survey by the Latino Decisions, Latino voters had expressed their support for the proposal of Castro regarding the legalization of crossing the US-Mexican border.
According to a statement given by Baretto, most of the promises of the 2020 presidential candidates of the Democratic Party are focused on the program of the Obama era's second term where criminals were deported or apprehended while the non-criminals are left in peace. This is the current situation where the Latino community is living on.
Based on another survey administered by the Latino Decisions in the year 2012, most of the Latino voters got disappointed about the deportations that had happened during the rule of Obama. The Former President Barrack Obama had become the focus of rallies which made up of previous allies and Latino youth who had formerly supported his success in 2008.
