According to an article published this month, in the last six months, the United States of America had successfully achieved a drop in illegal immigration cases in the country. This had allowed November 2019 is the month where it had closely equated to the average number of illegal immigration cases in the history of the US. This is just after its significant increase from the previous year.

In the past few years, President Donald Trump and his administration had implemented a long list of difficult requirements for those who are seeking asylum in the country and to those who want to migrate to the US. The strict rules of the US had resulted in asylum seekers and illegal immigrants to be sent back to their countries where violence and danger are at its peak. Some of them were made to make DIY camps near the border of the US and Mexican territories.

The patrol officers at the US-Mexican border had already recorded border arrests of 34,000 migrants in the month of November. This amount equates to a 75% drop of detained illegal immigrants compared to the records in May of this year. The statistics were recently issued to the public on Monday by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Border arrests are the means used to forecast the illicit crossing of the US-Mexican border. This had primarily plunged after President Donald Trump had acquired authority to lead the country in 2017 after winning the US elections. The statistics had also shown that the total number of illegal immigrants had skyrocketed during the leadership of Former US President Barack Obama.

The administration under Trump had expressed their belief that the cause of the fall of the total number of arrested illegal immigrants is the stricter immigration laws and the active participation of Mexico and other Central American countries in its implementation. However, the decline in the number of arrests is just close or almost the same as the average total in the past ten years.

Mark Morgan, the current Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, had stated that the congress is needed to start a legislative act to discourage illicit crossing in the US-Mexican border permanently or for a longer duration.

According to Morgan, the country should not require other nations such as Mexico and other Central American countries to solve the country's issues with illegal immigration. He said that the country should put its focus on its legal system and resolve its 'loopholes'.

Morgan had also shared a program called the Migrant Protection Protocols which had helped discouraged asylum seekers from journeying to the US.

According to the Customs and Border Protection personnel, the program had successfully sent 54,000 illegal immigrants to Mexico after their border arrests.

Primarily, it was 59,000, but it was reduced to that number because of the errors in counting and that other people were sent back to Mexico and crossed again the US-Mexican border but were re-captured by the authorities and sent back again to Mexico.
