Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Found Guilty and Faces 2 Years of Imprisonment
In an article published earlier in the week, it was reported that Tekashi 6ix9ine, with the real name of Daniel Hernandez, 23 years old, will be facing the judge of a court in New York to receive his sentencing this week. He was arrested last year for multiple violations such as illegally carrying weapons and illegal drug trade. In
February this year, he was judged guilty of the allegations towards him. Later on, he requested for a compromise to allow him to skip going to prison.
For months, Tekashi had been serving as a witness against the other members of the Nine Trey Gang. This may be his way of earning freedom from prison.
His hearing was concluded last Wednesday morning in the court of New York City. The hearing ended with the decision to make him stay in prison for 2 years and five years of release (with supervision). After two years, he will be required to conduct three hundred hours of community service and pay a fine amounting to $35,000.
The judgment made by the court was the result of months of tedious investigations with his involvement with racketeering and with the Nine Trey Bloods Gang.
The charges that he was guilty were a conspiracy, failed murder, illegal drug trade, and illegal weapon trade. Before his hearing, he had asked the authorities for a way to lessen his judgment and sentencing. Before his latest hearing, he was facing sentencing of not less than forty-seven years in prison. He is lucky that the court had reduced that number to just two years.
In 2015, Tekashi 6ix9ine was also charged violating the law by using an underage minor to do a sexual performance. He was guilty of that offense and was sentenced to do one thousand hours of community service and he was also sentenced to four years of probation.
According to the New York Court Judge, Engelmayer, he wanted to make sure that Tekashi 6ix9ine's crime in 2015 will not happen again. The judge said that the rapper was lucky to have gotten off from a sentence of jail time during that time by saying that older associates were doing sexual acts with the minor girl. The judge explained that the rapper's first save will only happen once and not the second time around.
Most reporters on the news had skipped the criminal records of Tekashi 6ix9ine and had placed their focus on his behavior to snitch and tell on his colleagues.
According to a statement by Charlamagne Tha God of The Breakfast Club, the show will not be inviting the rapper on the show for being a snitch.
Lance Lazzaro, the judge of the guilty rapper had also expressed his concerns with the safety of Tekashi. He said that the rapper will be needing security 24/7. He also said that the rapper is not the typical cooperator and that he will be the target of gangs. He described it as a sentence for life.
According to Lazzaro, Tekashi's sentencing will never take back the damages he had left for his convicted crimes.
