Jason Dufner just wanted a second chance.

Two years removed from a heartbreaking, last-second loss in the 2011 PGA Championship, Dufner found himself back in position to win the championship -- and he did just that.

Dufner won the 2013 PGA Championship at Oak Hill by two strokes over Jim Furyk and tied a major championship record by shooting a 63 in the second round. He had birdies on every hole of the back nine except the last, when he tapped in a bogey on the final hole. This was the ending Dufner wish he had in 2011, when he blew a five shot lead with four holes remaining in the competition.

"It's a great accomplishment for me, and I'm really excited about it," Dufner said.

Dufner, a golfer known for his lack of emotion on and off the course, finally broke a smile after he hoisted the trophy and hugged his wife, Amanda.

Tiger Woods, on the other hand, went without a major title for the fifth year in a row as he finished tied for 40th place. He has won 14 titles, but none since his victory in the 2008 U.S. Open. Amid concerns about a possible back injury after he was noticeably favoring his lower back over the weekend, Woods told reporters that, "it's been tight all day. Just one of those things."

Woods was especially disappointed about his performance considering how far behind he was.

"It's more frustrating not being in it," he said. "Having a chance on the back nine on Sunday, I can live with that. It's always frustrating going out there. ... I'm grinding my tail off coming in just to shoot even par for the day. And I'm nowhere in it."

Woods will have to wait until April in order to have another shot at a major championship. Next, he will be competing in the FedEx Cup playoffs before playing in the Presidents Cup.
