Joining the cast of Doctor Who in Season 8 is Foxes, the British singer and songwriter, who will be singing one of her songs in the new season of the show. Foxes will also have a guest appearance and will pit her acting skills against the likes of 12th doctor Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman on an August episode of Season 8.

The 25-year-old singer, known for her song "Let Go for Tonight," expressed her disbelief over doing a guest role on "Doctor Who." She explained that her appearance on the series was caused by a chance meeting. As it turns out, she was doing a show when she saw the popular TV series' production team. Foxes got to talking with them, and their conversation ended up revealing to the group that she was a great fan of "Doctor Who." This statement ultimately led her to land a guest role in one of the show's episodes.

"I couldn't think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK's most iconic shows!" Foxes said. Executive producer Steven Moffat also expressed his excitement over having the singer be a part of the series' new episodes. Executive producer Steven Moffat said "We are completely thrilled that the amazingly talented Foxes is joining us on board". The showrunner dropped an interesting but cryptic hint when he said "the Doctor is finally catching up on his phone calls".

Foxes, whose real name ids Louisa Rose Allen, has won a Grammy award with three hit singles. Glorious, her debut album, was included in the Official UK Album Chart top five. Ben Miller, Hermione Norris, Tom Riley and Frank Skinner are the other stars who will have guest appearances on the new season of BBC's sci-fi show. Playing the second companion to the 12th doctor is Samuel Anderson as Danny Pink.
