NBA Legend Kobe Bryant Dies at 41 in Helicopter Crash
The entire world is mourning the loss of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a tragic incident in Calabasas near Los Angeles, California on Sunday morning. According to Independent, the LA Lakers icon and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was on board a helicopter when it crashed.
The 41-year-old NBA legend was traveling with three others, including his daughter, who were also killed in the crash. According to Variety, at about 10 a.m, a call went out for a crashed helicopter. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department immediately responded to the scene.
No one in the private aircraft survived, a devastating news confirmed by Tony Imbrenda, Los Angeles County Fire Captain. As of now, the other passengers are yet to be identified.
Reports claimed that a total of 9 people were killed in the accident. Witnesses claimed that the helicopter was immediately engulfed in flames after crash-landing. As of now, authorities are still probing the cause of the crash.
This devastating news shocked Bryant's fans and colleagues. On Twitter, Dallas Mavericks player Luca Doncic expressed his disbelief over Bryant's death:
"NO PLEASE, I'm shaking this can't be true please."
A star gone to soon, Bryant is just 41 years old, but his contribution and legacy in basketball will surely live on. Bryant played for Los Angeles Lakers for two decades, making 18 All-Star Games. The NBA star is survived by his wife Vanessa and their four daughters.
