Brother and fiancee of Aaron Hernandez speak out over the docu-series of Netflix of the former NFL star's issue on sexuality.

In recent weeks, Netflix caught the attention of sports fans and followers of Aaron Hernandez after they released a documentary series about the life of the former NFL star. They said that they will explore the life of Aaron Hernandez on how he lost everything from stardom to murder to suicide.

Days after, Netflix announced that its docuseries "Killer Inside: The Mind Of Aaron Hernandez" will explore not only his life and he ended up a murderer, but also his sexuality. It sparked lots of controversies and people criticized the director on how he portayed the life of Aaron Hernandez. Finally, his family and fiancee speak out about the issue, according to We Are Mitu.

Jonathan Hernandez, brother of Aaron Hernandez, spoke with Dr. Oz in a recent interview, saying that he was asked by Netflix to help them in the making of the docuseries and in return, he would be compensated. However, according to Hernandez, he turned down the offer. Though, he knew that some parts of the story are important, he "didn't feel right about it."

Jonathan told Dr. Oz, "I think there's so much tragedy within this and things that can be gained for other people's benefit that the dollar amount was the least significant thing. It's more so what was at hand and what we can collectively so someone who is growing up isn't in this situation in the near future or down the road."

Meanwhile, Shayanna Jenkins, fiancee of the late Aaron Hernandez, also confirmed that she too was asked by Netflix to participate in the docu-series and she would also have been compensated. However, she shared the same sentiment as Hernandez's brother and decided to turn down the offer. Instead of sharing how much she knew Aaron Hernandez, she just decided to keep moving forward in her life.

Jenkins told ABC News, "If he did feel that way or if he felt the urge, I wish that I - I was told. And I wish that he - you know, he would've told me 'cause I wouldn't - I would not have loved him any differently. I would have understood. It's not shameful and I don't think anybody should be ashamed of who they are inside, regardless of who they love. I think it's a beautiful thing, I just wish I was able to tell him that."

The docuseries of Aaron Hernandez's life did not only receive criticisms from the former NFL star's fiancee and family, but also received backlash from his fans, most especially how they handled the making of the show.

After the Netflix released its series that explored the sexuality of Aaron Hernandez, there have been lots of talk shows that perceived Hernandez's sexuality and how it became a factor in the crime he committed along with two other individuals.

The docuseries of Aaron Hernandez has garnered criticism as it brought up a very sensitive issue about Hernandez's sexuality and yet the former NFL star is no longer around and cannot defend himself anymore.

There is nothing wrong about talking about someone's sexuality. However, talking about a dead person's sexuality is another thing. It is really a low blow.
