Universal Music Latino Welcomes New Vice President
Managing Director Alejandro Duque of Universal Music Latino announced on Wednesday the appointment of Carlos Perez and Aldo Gonzales as the Vice-President for PR and Promotion and as the Vide President of A&R in the Universal Music Latino, Machete Music, and Capitol Latin.
Universal Music Latino is the world's leading Latin entertainment company that operates in the United States and Mexico. They are the home of some well-known Latin artists who have made a name in the music industry like Alejandro Fernandez, Marc Antonio Solis, Los Tigres del Norte, and many more.
In its aspiration to continue its vision which is to mold the talents of Latin artists most especially the young talented artists, they appointed new persons in distinct positions. Both Perez and Gonzalez will be based in Miami but they will report directly to Duque.
Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE) has different labels and that includes Capitol Latin, Disa, Fonovisa, Machete Music, Universal Music Latino, Universal Music Mexico, and GTS. Each of these labels works in different ways.
Perez started his career in Mexico after graduating in publicity in Fonovisa, one of the UMLE's labels. He moved in Miami to head the publicity department of Fonovisa and 2008 and in 2016 he became the director of publicity of all labels under the UMLE.
The achievements and success of Perez in developing and promoting talents such as Karol G, Sebastian Yatra, J Balvin, and more is only a proof that deserved to be promoted. In his new position now, it helps him to broaden his reach in terms of publicity and public relations, and promotion.
Meanwhile, Gonzales joined the UMLE in 2007 and since then he has been responsible for artists like Chris Jeday, Kevin Roldan, and recently the signing of Guayana in UMLE. In his new position today, he will have a wide bandwidth that will help him to work with the roster of artists under UMLE. As part of his job, he will also continue to sign and develop new artists and producers who have the potentials to make global hits like J.Balvin who received different awards in the music industry. He will also be the point person in developing A&R strategies and collaborations to continue to make global hits.
Universal Music Latin Entertainment has been the home of well-known Latin artists and bands. Los Tigres del Norte is one of the bands under the UMLE. It is not surprising anymore why there are many Mariachi bands under the UMLE. Aside from them, few of your favorite Latin artists are Christian Nodal, J Balvin, Lois Fonsi, Chyno Miranda, and more.
They have molded and promoted young talents that made a name in the industry. Most of them are award-winning artists and received different awards during the Latin Grammy Awards and was nominated in Grammy Awards.
This is expected to be a year for Latino music. It can be recalled that Latino music and artists made headlines and topped in the different online music streaming platforms not only in the United States but also abroad. This only means that Latino music has now slowly become one of the world's most loved music.
