1. Cusco, Peru

3. Cotacachi, Ecuador

This is one of the first places considered by the ex-pats. This small town has an estimated population of more than 9,000 and is known for its healing mecca and mountain paradise. Expats consider this small town as a haven. Cotacachi is located just 2 hours from the capital city, Quito. The village is also known for its handcrafted leather products. 

4. Sucre, Bolivia

This is a great place to visit and stay at a low-cost. This is one of the cities in South America where you can live every month by spending not more than $800 and you can take other trips to other areas in the city. This is also a good place for those who are nature lover because you will come across with green spaces and flower-filled oasis.

5. Salta, Argentina

This place is a great touchdown for a one year stay or more. If you want to feel living in a small town, then this is the best place for you. There are parks, plazas, numerous shops, restaurants, and more. Some of the most visited tourist attractions in the town are the San Bernardo Mountain, street market, traditional village in San Lorenzo, and more.
