Latina Actress Teresa Ruiz Finds Inspiration In Her Garden
Latina actress Teresa Ruiz of 'Narcos: Mexico Season 2' shares some details about her favorite garden where she finds inspiration to prepare for her character.
Teresa Ruiz is one of the leading actresses in the new season of Narcos on Netflix. She is one of the only women seen onscreen. She plays the role of Isabella Bautista or "The Queen" and is the girlfriend of drug lord Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo of the Guadalajara Cartel.
In an article published in ArchyW, she shared some details about her favorite garden where she finds inspiration to prepare for her character. She admits that despite her very busy schedule she finds her mornings as very ideal to enter the very leafy garden in front of her house and grab a book to read while drinking her morning coffee.
This is the place where she also finds time to relax and she said that most of the time she spends hours in the garden and sometimes with a computer on her lap. She shared the garden with her neighbors who are acting coaches with whom she's lived with for the past five years.
She said that it is very difficult for her as a new artist to find someone who will support her every day but she is just so lucky that she find it quickly in Los Angeles from her neighbors. Moreover, Ruiz will also be playing with Liam Neeson in "The Marksman" and they are now in post-production.
When she was asked about why she found the garden as her favorite space she said that she travels a lot and every time that she is in Los Angeles, this is where she spent her time to study, prepare for the characters that she will be playing, and most of all she also work with other actors in the garden.
She also renovated the garden because it was very raw and rustic. She went for several times in a nursery garden to buy some plants in Santa Barabara that will give the place a shady green ambiance. She bought many ficus trees and some plants that bloom every summer as suggested by an expert. She also added that next time she will add some lightings in the trees.
There are also some other important features inside her favorite garden. Two of these is a wooden table and benches that were given to her by another actor who happened to be a carpenter also. Most of all, the classic glider which has been there since the 1980s.
Ruiz is a native from Oaxaca, Mexico and the garden that she has in Los Angeles is very similar to what they have in her native home. She also shared that one of her mother's dreams is to have their houses next to each other where they could live. One house for her brother and another house at the other house. This manifests how the mother of Ruiz tries to retain the value of family which has been a long culture practiced by Latinos.
