Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw was warmly greeted by a diverse crowd of over 500 people, many wearing insignias of his iconic eyepatch. Five hundred people attended the representative's re-election kickoff party held in the Concrete Cowboy's Houston venue.

A photo-taking session also lasted over an hour as the line snaked out and around the well-known bar. Of humble Houston origins, Republican bet Crenshaw eyes re-election in Texas's 2nd Congressional District, which he has been representing since January 2019.

Although the eyepatch-clad Crenshaw is unopposed as the Republican's primaries have indicated, he is gearing up for the upcoming general election.

He parades Republican ideologies at the forefront of his campaigns, believing in the value of personal responsibility and sustainability in governance while protecting the citizens' inherent rights.

This, he claims, are the things Democrats do not do. According to the Representative, Democrats tend to overpromise supposed solutions to everything, despite being unable to follow through - a tactic employed to gain voters.

Crenshaw mirrors US President Donald Trump's quip regarding the "radical socialism" of the Democratic party when he spoke about the Price Control Bill that had just passed its reading in Congress.

He calls the bill "insane", saying that it is a clear indication of advocating for socialism.

The Representative believes that such tactics will be ineffective because of its removal of incentive, independence, and diminishing of human spirit.

Socialism, he adds, has been the cause of death several millions of people, along with communism.

These ideologies breed desperation and paranoia, driving the desperate few to seek solace in desolate places for a glimpse of freedom.

As Crenshaw continues to speak of the Democratic Party, he calls out their desire to call off the Electoral College as an act of tyranny.

He believes that it is unfair and unjust to simply disregard the opinions and wants of the 49% all because the 51% has voted so.

Crenshaw insists on the effectivity of our current system of governance and legislature as evidenced by the bipartisan legislation.

He cited three bills that he was able to have passed despite the Democratic Party having the majority of control within the chamber.

His popularity in the region was evidenced by and testified to by Stephanie Salinas, a resident of Texas's Second District.

Donning a pair of "Trump" socks, Salinas told The Texan, in an interview, that she gladly showed up and supported Crenshaw because he "kept his promises while vocally supporting His Excellency, Donald Trump."

She continued to hail him as an exemplary example for the youth, those in military service, and even those who have already served.

But it was not only long-time followers that came to support Rep. Crenshaw: Harold Conard, IT professional, said to have not known Crenshaw until he was featured on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

He was allegedly impressed by the candidate's smooth responses to the host's jibes and comments, leading him to follow the Representative on social media platforms and awaiting his speeches.

Conard believed that Crenshaw made sense, mirroring what he personally taught his children about individual responsibility.

To close on his interview with The Texan following his kickoff, he says that the Democratic Party "does not have a good message" entering the 2020 campaigns, saying that they are lie-selling, crisis fanatics who intent to trick the masses into believing their "solutions" while only causing hysteria in reality.
