The COVID-19 outbreak had induced citizens from different parts of the world to adopt new behaviors, said an article from Fox News Live. A viral video clip had circulated the internet showing one of these new trends.

A New Way of Greeting People

A video clip had circulated social media where people from areas where the COVID-19 outbreak had reached were seen greeting one another. It was observed in the video clip that the people were greeting each other without making physical contact.

The type of greeting that these people created were being called by the online community as the Wuhan Shake. The new type of handshake was named after the city in China where it was first identified.

The Viral Video on Social Media

The video footage was uploaded on the social media platform Twitter. The uploader uses the name 'V actually.' However, it is still unsure if it is the original source of the Wuhan Shake video clip.

According to 'V actually', the video clip contains a recording of men in China who discovered a new way of greeting each other. Additionally, she said that the residents of China had identified a new way of greeting one another because there were not allowed to shake hands due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

'V actually' expressed her admiration to those Chinese people who are capable of adapting and making a stressful situation transform into a joyful matter.

The Wuhan Shake video clip has received more than 12,000 reactions and hundreds of comments from the online community.

Meanwhile, in China, it had closed the makeshift hospitals it had constructed to help with the containment of the outbreak. Based on news reports, new COVID-19 cases had hit the country. However, the current worldwide statistics regarding the epidemic is still at a growing rate.

COVID-19 Prevention and Treatment

As of the moment, the vaccine to prevent the COVID-19 is not yet discovered by scientists, says an article from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

One way to prevent the disease is to avoid being infected with the novel coronavirus.

The CDC reminds everyone to follow the following preventive acts to avoid the spread of the dangerous illness:

  • Prevent physical contact with sick people. The Wuhan Shake is a good method to prevent physical contact with other people as well.
  • Refrain from stepping outside the house when sick.
  • When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth with a tissue. Properly dispose of used tissues.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect objects that are frequently touched by sick people in the house. Use household cleaning wipes or spray for these objects.
  • For people who are not suffering from any contagious illnesses, wearing a facemask is not recommended by the CDC as a preventive measure for the COVID-19.
  • For people who are showcasing symptoms of the COVID-19, there are required to use facemasks to prevent spreading the disease.
  • Facemasks are necessary for health workers and those who are nursing a sick COVID-19 patient to help them prevent getting the illness as well.
  • Frequently washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds helps with the prevention process. People are advised to properly wash their hands after going to the bathroom, blowing their nose, sneezing, and coughing. Hand Sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol content can also be a good substitute for handwashing.

So remember to stay clean, avoid unnecessary contact and do the Wuhan Shake!
