Coronavirus Pushes New James Bond Premiere Back 7 Months
The new James Bond movie 'No Time to Die' is moved from its original premiere night from April to November according to Screen Rant.
This is one of the most anticipated movies this year. This is also the 25th James Bond movie and went on sale on Monday.
Many fans of James Bond bought tickets online. However, it was announced days after the ticket went on sale that the movie will be rescheduled for seven months later.
The movie will be moved to November 12 in the United Kingdom while November 25 in the United States.
Other countries have not yet announced as to when it will be released.
The decision to reschedule the premiere of 'No Time to Die' came after the increasing number of coronavirus patients around the world.
MGM and Universal Studios made the announcement to ensure that the movie can perform competitively in foreign markets and some economic concerns.
In the recent report, due to the infectious coronavirus that has spiked to thousands of deaths and infected nearly 100,000 individuals that originated in China, it is not a surprise anymore why China has closed most of its theaters in an attempt to control the spread of the virus.
Other countries like Japan, Italy, and South Korea have been greatly impacted also with the virus and it led them also to close some of their theaters. The MGM and Universal Studios have forecasted already a decline in their movie market if they will push through to release the James Bond movie this April.
Meanwhile, James Bond fans who bought tickets online do not need to worry because they can ask for a full refund on the website where they purchased the ticket.
Regal posted an announcement already on their social media account on fans can process a full refund of their ticket. Meanwhile, the AMC also announced that they are processing a ticket refund for the James Bond movie.
One of the reasons seen why they decided to reschedule the movie because China is the second-largest movie market in the world and has greatly impacted Hollywood movies. There is no doubt why Hollywood is scrambling to respond to the coronavirus outbreak by rescheduling its movies.
With the recent announcement of MGM and Universal Studios about the rescheduling of the latest James Bond movie amidst the coronavirus outbreak, it is also expected that other movie productions will be doing the same.
However, Black Widow and F9, one of the most anticipated films of all time, said recently that there will be no changes to their schedules.
But speculations are roaming around that either the two movies or other Summer Hollywood movies will then announce to reschedule its release.
This move of MGM and Universal Studios is a great way to control the spread of the virus because it will lessen the exposure of people to strangers who might carry the virus.
It is important to take note also that those who are in their old age and who have a weak immune system are more prone to be infected.
