Grand Princess Cruise Ship Will Dock in California
The cruise ship hit by coronavirus will be docking Monday despite having numerous people test positive for the virus. The ship will reportedly be docking at the Port of Oakland.
Authorities will allow guests to leave the ship after staying off the coast of California since Thursday. All American passengers from the ship, including the 19 crew members and two passengers infected by COVID-19, will be whisked away to military bases to be quarantined for 14 days.
Governor Gavin Newsom assured the public none of the passengers will be allowed to come in close contact with the general population after disembarking the ship.
Health officials from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will screen passengers after the ship docks.
California residents will stay at the Travis Air Force Base or Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Residents of other states will be taken to Texas or Georgia. International guests will be provided charter flights.
The cruise line said it has not yet determined quarantine plans for the ship's crew members.

The Royal Couple's Last Royal Engagements Before 'Normal' Life
View this post on Instagram50 years ago, women in Britain won the right to equal pay. That monumental moment began with one courageous and inspiring group of women in a factory in Dagenham, England. In 1968, facing a pay settlement that declared them less skilled than men, the sewing machinists of the Ford Motor Company walked out on strike. In the face of great pressure, they stood firm, and two years later the UK Parliament was forced to pass the Equal Pay Act, protecting and supporting working women ever since. To mark International Women’s Day, The Duchess of Sussex visited Dagenham to meet with Geraldine Dear, one of the strikers, and spend time with students at the Robert Clack Upper School to meet the town’s next generation of female role models, and talk to young women and men about the women who inspire them. • “Being in Dagenham is incredibly profound. Because as you can see with Geraldine and the other women who had the strength to really stand up for something that they knew needed to be done. This is the best example of no matter how small you might feel, how low you may feel on the ladder or the totem pole, no matter what colour you are, no matter what gender you are, you have a voice, and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right.” - The Duchess of Sussex A lifetime advocate and campaigner for gender equity, The Duchess joined a special assembly to celebrate this remarkable local story, as well as recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of all women around the world. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2020 #EachForEqual Photo © The Duke and Duchess of Sussex / Chris Allerton A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) on Mar 8, 2020 at 5:08am PDT
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry returned to the UK to carry out a series of scheduled and surprise appearance--- the last few before they live their 'nonroyal life' in Canada starting in April.
The pair is expected to attend the annual Commonwealth Day service with Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the royal family at Westminster Abbey.
The Duchess recently visited a London school in a surprise stop. Markle also dropped by the Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham in honor of International Women's Day.
Here Comes the Supermoon
Make sure to look to the sky tonight for a #Supermoon. Best viewing will be after 6pm when the Sun has set.
A Supermoon occurs when a full or new Moon coincides with the point when the Moon is at its closest to Earth. The Moon will look larger and brighter than usual. pic.twitter.com/m7kqjCuacW — National Space Centre (@spacecentre) March 9, 2020
Monday night will be lit by a spectacular supermoon---a phenomenon that happens when a full moon is close to our planet. Native Americans called the event 'worm moon' due to the soil being soft enough for earthworm casts to appear. According to the Old Farmers Almanac, the supermoon signified the start of spring.
The supermoon will be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal. The moon is expected to reach its peak at 1:48 pm EDT.
