The Coronavirus Pandemic: Reasons Why You Should Stop Wearing Facemasks
Since the arrival of the coronavirus in the United States of America, many citizens have been buying loads of facemasks. However, an article revealed that there is no need to purchase facemask.

The Need to Wear a Mask
Whether there are cases in your community, you may opt not to wear facemasks such as the N95 masks, respirator masks, or surgical masks.
According to a specialist in infection named Eli Perencevich, MD, people should not wear face masks to protect them from the deadly coronavirus. Perencevich also works as a professor at the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa.
A healthy person does not need to wear a mask. They should not be wearing facemasks, says Doctor Perencevich. There is no present evidence dictating the need for healthy people to wear facemasks to be protected from the deadly coronavirus, she added.
The doctor said that people are wearing facemasks incorrectly. That increases the risk of getting a dangerous infection because they are frequently putting their hands on their face.
However, regardless of a person's knowledge about the proper use of facemasks, they still don't need them.
When to Wear a Facemask
The facemasks being bought by most people are not the ones that are made to prevent the virus from getting in contact with a person's nose or mouth.
It should be noted that the coronavirus is transmitted through tiny droplets and not through the air. This means that the virus cannot be randomly breathed in by a person. Additionally, this means that surgical masks are not capable of giving sufficient protection against the droplets containing the deadly coronavirus.
It Keeps the Droplets In
The surgical facemasks widely used by the public are designed to keep droplets in. The reason for the structure of these types of masks is to prevent a sick person from spreading his disease.
The time you will be wanting to wear a mask is when you are ill and you need to leave the confines of your home for some errands, says Dr. Perecncevich. She said that people who are suffering from the flu or the COVIS-19 should wear facemasks to prevent spreading the illness to others. Those who are sick are required to still wear a mask when they are recovering in their home to prevent them from spreading their illness to their family.
What Effectively Keeps the Virus Out?
A respirator is a type of face covering that lessens the exposure of its wearer from airborne particles. This can keep a person safe from getting infected with bacteria and viruses.
The medical respirator is the type of personal protection equipment used by healthcare professionals when they are treating patients with a serious and contagious illness.
Masks vs Respirators
Medical respirators can give the benefits of both masks and respirators, says 3M. 3M is a major producer of respirators and masks. It says the wearer of the medical respirators is protected from contracting an illness. Additionally, it also protects patients from the wearer's germs.
