Jennifer Lopez's Childhood Sweetheart, David Cruz, Dead At 51
Jennifer Lopez's high school sweetheart David Cruz, 51, has reportedly died at Mount Sinai West Hospital. The New York Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed Cruz died of heart disease on Saturday.
David Cruz is survived by his partner of 18 years Isa. In an interview with a media outlet, she described Cruz as a "loving and devoted father."
In 2004, Lopez fondly called Cruz a friend, saying, "He knows me better than anyone else."
J.Lo and Cruz dated for 10 years before separating in the mid-'90s. Fans will remember the former couple meeting back in 1984 before Lopez's career started taking off.
Their relationship began when she was 15 and he was 16. They had broken up in 1995 after they both attended the premiere of J.Lo's big break as the third lead in the cop thriller Money Train where she starred alongside Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.
Jennifer's love life has been the center of public attention after she became a huge movie star that eventually landed her the starring role in the 1997 biopic Selena.

She met her first husband while he was working as a waiter at a Miami restaurant. They married in 1997 but filed for divorce a year later. She hired him to run her new Los Angeles restaurant, Madres but fired him six months later.
Noa sued Lopez for "breach of contract," saying the Hustler actress had no good reason to let him go.
Ojani, on a revenge spree, told tabloids everything he and Jenny did during their 11-month marriage. Wanting to be the next "Ricky Martin," Noa attempted to release a sex tape that included "salacious material" of the singer.
J.Lo and Noa fought in court from 2003 to 2009. Lopez eventually won, effectively barring the Cuban waiter from releasing private videos, a movie, and a tell-all book.
Sean P. Diddy
Jennifer Lopez appeared in Diddy's music video for the song "Been Around The World" from his 1997 album No Way Out. The pair began dating in late 1999, the same year Lopez released her debut album On the 6.
The former couple was the hottest pair of the time, appearing in countless magazine covers and generating tons of headlines. They were together when Jennifer wore her famous Versace Gown at 2000 Grammys.
Their relationship began to go south when they were both arrested in December 1999 after chaos broke out at a New York Club. It was revealed they broke up on Valentine's Day 2001. J.Lo said Diddy's partying ways led to the end of their relationship.
She also said Puff was "unfaithful." It was rumored Lopez would go around knocking on hotel doors trying to find Sean; she neither confirmed nor denied the allegation.
They remain friends to this day.
Jennifer went on to marry choreographer Chis Judd in 2001 before splitting 10 months later. She also dated Ben Affleck, getting engaged at one point, but later called off the wedding.
Marc Anthony
Lopez walked down the aisle with the "You Sang To Me" crooner Marc Anthony in 2004.
The pair collaborated on the Grammy stage in 2005.
They also appeared in the film El Cantante the same year.
The pair went on a widely successful tour. The former couple welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008. Anthony and Lopez announced their separation in 2011, officially divorcing in 2014.
The two remain great friends.
Alex Rodriguez
After her divorce from Anthony, J.Lo went on to date dancer Casper Smart on and off for five years before finally calling it quits in 2016.
The On the Floor singer found her happily ever after again with retired baseball pro Alex Rodriguez.
The pair met in 2005 when Lopez was still married to Marc Anthony. They reconnected 12 years later after bumping into each other at a restaurant.
They were spotted walking hand-in-hand all throughout March and April before making their official red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala. The two would be the center of public attention---and the envy of many couples--- all throughout 2018.
