Companies that are looking for thousands of new employees due to the drastic change in the business industry brought by COVID-19 pandemic.

Many Latinos and Hispanics are now looking for a job following the mild recession brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. There are nearly 60 million Latinos living in the country and they are the largest minority group as well.

Last year, the median income of an Hispanic household significantly improved. However, with the present situation today many lost their jobs and are now left with nothing except hope and faith that they can find, and land, a new job even just temporarily.

Here are some of these companies in which Latinos and Hispanics who were furloughed or laid off can apply for work:

PHARMACIES

CVS Health

The company announced that they are looking for more than 50,000 new full-time, part-time, and temporary employees across the country. Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer Thomas Moriarty announced that the hiring of thousands of employees is a result of the growing need for additional employees across their enterprise.

The positions they are looking for will be assigned in pharmacies and stores, call centers and warehouses, inventory and other front line individuals. There is no need for a person to person interview. The application process, interview, and job tryouts will be done virtually.

Walgreens

Walgreens has also announced recently that they are looking for 9,500 new employees across the United States. They will be assigned as customer service associates, pharmacy technicians, and shift leads. In their official Twitter account, they wrote: "If you or someone you know as been furloughed because of Covid-19 we have openings to help with the increased demand we are seeing in our retail stores and distribution centers."

ONLINE RETAILERS

Amazon

Amazon recently announced that they will hire 100,000 part-time and full-time positions across the United States. They will be assigned at the fulfillment centers and delivery networks due to the demand of the delivery services because of social distancing.

Walmart

The company will be hiring more than 150,000 employees through the end of May. Initially, the roles will be temporary but the company said that many of them will be converted into permanent roles. They will be assigned in stores, clubs, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers.

GROCERIES AND CONVENIENCE STORES

Kroger

Kroger has announced that they will hire 10,000 part-time and full-time roles for their retail stores manufacturing plants, and distribution centers.

7- Eleven

7-Eleven is hiring up to 20,000 people because of the surge in its delivery shopping through its new app. Interested applicants may inquire in-store about the application process or hiring process.

Tesco

Tesco is also looking for more than 20,000 temporary colleagues. Applicants are advised to inquire in-store or visit their website to know the hiring and application process.

These are just few of the companies that Latinos and Hispanics who were furloughed or laid off can apply for.
