Brazil and Mexico In Taking Precautionary Steps To Fight COVID-19
The Federal government in Latin America had a fast action against the spread of coronavirus and their actions included shutting down borders, canceling flights, and 24-hour service from soldiers along the road. Medical professionals and other workers involved remained on the front of the line to treat patients.
Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil and Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the respective presidents of Brazil and Mexico, have been strikingly dismissive. They had a quick action in limiting public transportation, nonessential businesses were shut, and preventive measures were called to action.
However, in the regions where poverty rates are high, people remain to have contact in closed quarters. In this kind of environment, breeding of viruses will surely happen, and the rapid spread of COVID-19 will not be avoided if preventive measures won't be imposed soon. This can affect the community with devastating results.

Monica De Bolle, a senior at the Peterson Institute for International Economics stated that what is happening around with the disease spreading is a recipe for disaster, a global implosion, and a state of upheaval. She also added that if the people won't cooperate with the federal government, the rapid spread of the communicable disease will surely take place. People need to trust and listen to what the government is imposing.
The federal government on Tuesday also suspended people going to school, limited public gathering, and told Mexicans to stay at home.
Bolsanaro remained hesitant towards the issue he only described the virus as "measly cold", he doesn't want to be hysteric and he also said that if he were to acquire the virus he would ward it off easily because he is athletic. While he announced these opinions, Mexicans did not like it, it also caused a nightly protest with Mexicans banned out through their window and some would even shout "Out with Bolsanaro!"
Updates from Wednesday morning, Brazil struck cases off with 2,271 confirmed cases with a sixfold increase within the week that follows 47 deaths. Leaders in Latin America didn't take the virus seriously until the first case went out in Brazil in late February. And since then, COVID-19 had already spread throughout Latin America.
As the pandemic continues to spread throughout the whole world, it has been a major problem, especially in our economy. In Latin America, it caused the supply chains to take a curb. Foreign cargos were also no longer allowed to enter since there was a quarantine to keep the virus off from spreading.
Economic growth in some countries in Latin America was dragged down due to the decrease in the price of the commodities. Countries like Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Chile were the countries that had 0.1 dismissal percent. Although the peak has not yet been predicted there are signs that it might occur sooner.
Bolsonaro also had arguments with the governors of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the countries' biggest states that are now united to possibly limit the people's movements to further avoid the contagious disease. Peru, El Salvador, Argentina, Chile, and Venezuela also took precautionary actions to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
Days after the news that the spread of the virus was at a high rate, Bolsonaro triggered politicians and his former allies in the government including state lawmaker Janaína Paschoal had him in the shortlist that could cause him to be removed from office.
Medical experts are now encouraging everyone to take preventive measures to avoid contracting the disease. Latin America has been strictly imposing guidelines and protocols that can further help flatten the curve of COVID-19.
