Mortal Kombat 10 News, Rumors, Trailer: Next-Gen Console Version to Be 'Most Intense' Game Yet [Video]
The Mortal Kombat X video game is set for launch in 2015 and will be available for the following consoles: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. The first trailer of Mortal Kombat X was recently released by Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios.
Created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, Mortal Kombat is one of the most successful American video game franchise series. Midway Games developed the first four versions and their updates, which were released initially on arcade machines. This was followed by releases to the computer and home console systems.
Moral Kombat X's first trailer showed Sub-Zero and Scorpion engaged in a battle lasting for about two minutes. The battle showed all the gory scenes that fans have become accustomed to when it comes to Mortal Kombat. While Scorpion and Sub-Zero battle each other, the song "Can't Be Stopped" by Wiz Khalifa plays in the background.
Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios' creative director, said that the company wanted their players to experience the most powerful game of the franchise ever. To do this, they will have to make full use of the new-generation consoles' strengths.
The characters of Scorpion and Sub-Zero are definitely coming back in Mortal Kombat X. Sonya Blade, Lui Kang and Kano are presumed to come back as well. However, at this stage in the game little is known about who the other major characters are that will be included in Mortal Kombat 10. According to International Business Times, there is "a chance that NetherRealms will use Mortal Kombat X to introduce new characters to the 20-year-old game."
The original cast of the video game franchise included: Baraka, Ermac, Cyrax, Jade, Johnny Cage, Jax Briggs, Mileena, Kabal, Kenshi, Kung Lao, Motaro, Liu Kang, Nightwolf, Motaro, Goro, Smoke, Raiden, Noob, Ermac, Jade, Kurtis Stryker, Liu Kang, Reptile, Smoke, Reptile, Saibot, Sheeva, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Sheeva, Kano, Kitana, Kurtis Stryker, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Rain, Sektor, Tsung, Shang, Shao Khan, Shang Tsung, and Sektor.
