Latino actor Jaime Camil joins the long list of celebrities who are donating money and time to help combat the deadly and infectious COVID-19 pandemic according to a recently published article.

CURRENT STATUS OF COVID-19 AROUND THE GLOBE

As of today, there are nearly 1 million, or 950,708, individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 around the globe and a death toll of 48,311 according to worldometer. The number of infected persons and the death toll continues to increase every day.

The fight for COVID-19 is still far because for as long as there is no vaccine that will kill the virus and treat the patients who are positive for the virus, the war is not yet over. According to the World Health Organization, the following are the top 5 countries with the most number of COVID-19 cases:

  • United States of America- 187,302 cases
  • Italy- 105,792
  • Spain- 94,417
  • China- 82,724
  • Germany- 67,366

There have been many efforts done to flatten the curve of COVID-19 such as Stay at Home Policy, different levels of lockdowns that include the temporary closure of millions of establishments, social-distancing, and many more. 

However, while the number of cases for COVID-19 increases, there are reports also about the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment that are putting the lives of health workers at risk worldwide according to the World Health Organization. 

It is for this reason that billionaires and celebrities around the globe are now donating time and money to address this global health concern that continues to kill thousands of people around the globe.

Being selfless is an inborn character for Latinos. Family is always valued, it is no wonder why Jaime Camil along with other Latino celebrities are now joining to give their time and money to help combat the growing concern of COVID-19.

In a recently published article, Jaime Camil is one of the Latino celebrities who step up amid COVID-19. But, his way of getting donations is something interactive and beneficial for both the beneficiary and the benefactor. 

You can also donate and help combat COVID-19 by donating $100 through a mobile application called Cameo that will connect fans to their favorite celebrities. By downloading the app and donating $100 you can request your favorite celebrity to record a personalized video for you. 

Aside from donating money for COVID-19, this could also be one of the avenues that you could take if you are already tired of being stuck in your home for weeks already. 

Moreover, the app is used to raise funds that will be used both for the COVID-19 patients and the healthcare workers who are now running out of Personal Protective Equipment. This is now the time that everyone should do their share no matter how small or big it is to help combat COVID-19.

If this deadly and infectious virus continues to devastate countries around the globe, the normal routine will still be in a hiatus. Schools will still be closed, parks will still be empty, establishments will continue to close and while many are dying because of the virus, many will also die because of hunger due to the economic impact brought by COVID-19.
