Puerto Rican Day Parade 2014: 8 Twitter Pictures That Show Off Puerto Rican Pride
The Puerto Rican Day Parade took place on Sunday in Manhattan, and social media sites really felt the impact. Plenty took to the sites to post their pictures of the day. Here we rounded up some of the very best:
Adrienne Bailon didn't post a picture of herself at the actual parade, but she was ready to go. In this picture, she wears a white dress and says she's ready to hop on the sofrito float.
Voxxi rounded up some of the celebrities that attended the event. They caught Rosie Perez, Calle 13, Adrienne Bailon and Fat Joe. Each celebrity celebrated in their own unique way.
It's not just Puerto Ricans who attend the parade. Andrew Cuomo was also there to lend his support, where he decided to wear a guayabera.
Dogs got into the spirit, too. These two pups wore their Puerto Rican flags. Probably the best dressed of the event.
Some people took the time to draw attention to Oscar Lopez Rivera, a political prisoner who has been in a U.S. prison for 33 years. Boxers Miguel Cotto and Jose Pedraza are calling for his release as well.
Victor Cruz was also at the parade. He didn't just wear a Puerto Rican shirt: He also chose a Puerto Rican hat. He was seen graciously posing with fans.
These three, and really everyone behind them, serve as a great reminder that Puerto Ricans come in different shapes, sizes and colors. They happily hold up their flags as they keep it casual with their outfits.
Pride starts at an early age in the case of this adorable toddler. She wears a Puerto Rican flag dress, which is paired with white stocking and red shoes. There was a theme going on, and she made sure to completely follow through with it.
